I’ve been a professional software developer and engineer for over two decades now, and I’ve been programming for over three decades. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization focusing on digital electronics and software development.

Over the course of my life I’ve coded in over a dozen different programming languages (C, C#, PHP, Javascript, SQL, etc.) and a dozen different computing platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac OS, etc.) I’ve also been developing websites since the mid-1990’s.

For much of my career I have focused on doing work to make life better for others. I’ve had long career stints where my development work improved the quality of life for those in hospice care, and also for those needing long term medical assistance. Much of this work was done using C# and Javascript, various web technologies (ASP.NET, SOAP, REST, etc.), and databases (Microsoft SQL Sever, MySQL, etc.)

I’m knowledgeable about healthcare information technologies and standards (HL7, NCPDP SCRIPT, ICD-9 and ICD-10, Meaningful Use, RxNorm, etc.), as I have worked to implement a number of software solutions in the ever-evolving healthcare information ecosystem.

I have a long history of doing deep analysis of government regulations and industry specifications in order to create and execute on development plans for new products or for major enhancement of existing software solutions.

I also have significant leadership experience in software development. I’ve headed up development teams that have brought new pharmacy business units online, that have created interfaces with various healthcare partner organizations, and have also managed development teams that were distributed and remote.

Over the past few years I have also done work with small businesses who are looking to improve their online offerings, from services, to online educational courses, to other electronic product offerings. Much of the work has been done using WordPress, but a number of projects also included PHP frameworks such as CodeIgniter and Expression Engine.

In addition to my development and analysis work, I co-created an online course in remote work technologies with the intent to help individuals and teams work safely and productively.
